Snoezelen sessions for children with special needs

We offer Snoezelen sessions, a multisensory therapeutic approach designed for children with special needs, particularly those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or sensory disorders. Snoezelen supports the therapeutic process by offering a soothing, multisensory environment where the child can explore different sensory stimuli in a safe, caring setting. It aims to reduce anxiety, improve non-verbal communication, stimulate cognitive and sensory functions and help manage emotions.

What is Snoezelen?

Snoezelen is a multisensory space with equipment that stimulates the five senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste) to encourage relaxation, discovery and communication. Sessions are adapted to each child according to their needs and sensory preferences.

The aim is to create a sensory experience that encourages relaxation, emotional regulation and cognitive stimulation in a gentle way that respects each person’s pace.

The sessions allow the child to:

• explore different sensory stimuli such as light, sound, textures, colours and smells;
• relax and manage stress, especially if they are hypersensitive or have difficulty regulating their emotions;
• develop body awareness and sensory integration by exploring new senses and sensations in a calm, soothing environment.
